10. Seas in zone to be New Zealand fisheries waters---(1) The seas
 comprised in the exclusive economic zone shall be part of New Zealand
 fisheries waters.

   (2) The following enactments shall apply accordingly (subject to any
 provisions to the contrary in those enactments) within the exclusive
 economic zone:
   (a) [The Fisheries Act 1983] (except Part [V] of that Act):
   [(b) The Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978.]

       In subs. (2) (a) the Fisheries Act 1983 and Part V of that Act,
     being the corresponding enactments in force at the date of this
     reprint, have been substituted for the repealed Fisheries Act 1908
     and Part II of that Act. All of Part V of the 1983 Act has been
     repealed at the date of this reprint.
       In subs. (2), para. (b) was substituted for the original para. (b)
     by s. 30 (1) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978.
