30. Regulations may require maintenance of fire fighting equipment by
rural fire committees---(1) In any Order in Council which constitutes or
provides for the constitution, appointment, or election of a rural fire
committee, or in any regulations subsequently made under section 67 of
this Act, the Governor-General may require the committee to take such
steps, whether by appointment of Fire Officers or other servants or by
the provision and maintenance of apparatus or otherwise howsoever, as
may be prescribed or referred to in the regulations for the purpose of
fire control in the district.
(2) Any such regulations as aforesaid may require the committee to
submit to the [Secretary of Forestry] from time to time particulars of
all or any of the steps taken or proposed to be taken for the purpose
aforesaid.
