28. Appeal from notice to make firebreak or escape route or remove
combustible material---(1) Within 14 days after any notice is given
under section 27 of this Act, the eligible landholder or owner may
request the Minister [of Forestry] to appoint a Rural Fire Mediator to
give in the public interest a final decision regarding the requirements
of the notice.
(2) Pending the decision of the Mediator the notice shall be deemed
suspended.
