An Act to amend the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977
[1 July 1987
1. Short Title and commencement---(1) This Act may be cited as the
Forest and Rural Fires Amendment Act 1987, and shall be read together
with and deemed part of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977 (hereinafter
referred to as the principal Act).
(2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of
April 1987.
2. Change of title of Minister and Secretary---(1) The principal Act
is hereby amended---
(a) By inserting in paragraph (f) of the definition of the term ``Fire
Authority'' and in the definition of the term ``Rural Fire
Mediator'' in section 2 and in sections 5, 6, 8 (1), 9 (b), 12
(3), 14 (3), 17 (11), 20 (1), 28 (1), 33 (2), 49 (1), 52 (1), 54
(1), 59 (1), 64 (1) and (2), 67 (1), and 68, after the words
``the Minister'' wherever it occurs, the words ``of Forestry'':
(b) This paragraph amended paras. (a) and (c) of the definition of the
term ``Principal Fire Officer'' in s. 2 (1) of the principal
Act.
(c) This paragraph amended s. 4 (2) of the principal Act.
(d) This paragraph amended s. 23 (1) (a) (i) and (b) (i) of the
principal Act.
(2) This subsection substituted a new definition for the definition of
the term ``prescribed'' in s. 2 (1) of the principal Act.
3. This section inserted ss. 3A and 3B in the principal Act.
4. (a) This paragraph amended s. 7A (1) (a) of the principal Act.
(b) This paragraph amended s. 7A (1) (b) of the principal Act.
5. (1) (a) This paragraph amended s. 11 (2) and (4) of the principal
Act.
(b) This paragraph amended s. 11 (3), (4), and (6) of the principal
Act.
(2) This subsection inserted subs. (2A) in s. 11 of the principal Act.
6. This section amended s. 15 (2) of the principal Act.
7. This section amended ss. 19 (1), 30 (2), 52 (1), and 66 of the
principal Act.
8. This section amended s. 25 (2) of the principal Act.
9. This section added para. (j) to s. 67 (2) of the principal Act.
