Dog Control Officers and Dog Rangers
11. Dog control officers---(1) Every territorial authority shall
appoint one or more dog control officers or enter into an agreement
under section 16 (2) of this Act for the provision of the services of a
dog control officer in its district, and may appoint such other staff as
it considers necessary for the purposes of this Act.
(2) No person shall be appointed as a dog control officer unless the
territorial authority or the person making the appointment on behalf of
the territorial authority is satisfied, having regard to the education
and experience of the person to be appointed, that that person is
competent to perform the duties and exercise the powers of a dog control
officer under this Act.
