28. Functions of Minister of Conservation---The Minister of
Conservation shall have the following functions under this Act:
(a) The preparation and recommendation of New Zealand coastal policy
statements under section 57:
(b) The approval of regional coastal plans in accordance with the
First Schedule:
(c) The making of decisions on applications for coastal permits in
relation to restricted coastal activities:
(d) The monitoring of the effect and implementation of national
coastal policy statements and coastal permits issued by the
Minister of Conservation:
(e) The certification under section 4 (4) (c) (i) of works and
activities to which this Act does not apply.
