                                PAY EQUITY

   37. Objects---The objects of this Part of this Act are---
   (a) To provide a system whereby gender-based discrimination against
         female employees in respect of their remuneration can be
         identified and removed; and
   (b) To make provision for supplementary pay equity payments to be
         incorporated into awards and agreements; and
   (c) To enable pay equity to be implemented over a period of time that
         makes allowance for the economic impact on New Zealand and
         employers' ability to pay.
